| Membership is open to everyone. Help preserve Alabama's past while exploring the prehistory and history of our great state. Members participate in all aspects of archaeological research by contributing their time and money. |

Society members represent a cross section of skills, trades, crafts, and professions from the state, nation, and foreign countries. Working closely with archaeological scholars, the society and its members report site information and provide financial support, volunteer labor, scholarships and stipends for specific objectives such as radiocarbon dating, seminars, and education.
Most professional archaeologists in Alabama are active members of the Society. To maintain the high level of professionalism the Society desires, these archaeologists provide the necessary field supervision and advice for other Society members. |
Membership benefits include a monthly newsletter (Stones and Bones), a semi-annual journal (Journal of Alabama Archaeology), field trips, semi-annual meetings, and local chapter participation.
