"I chose the PA profession because I found that the life of a PA is suitable for having a family, but actually being able to spend time with your family. It also allows me to have the same hands on experience with patients as a doctor would, and that was really important to me."

       Rebecca McGrain

Hometown: Mobile, AL

Previous Education: B.S. in Chemistry from University of Alabama with a minor in Psychology

Previous Medical Experience: I worked at the Providence Hospital cancer center for about 2 years off and on through college and a year after I graduated.

Hobbies: I like to play tennis, listen to books on tape, and visit with my family.

Family: I'm the last child of three. I have an older brother and sister and my parents are still in Mobile.

Advice to future students: Be prepared to study because you are going to do a lot of it, but the knowledge that you gain should pay off when you get into clinicals and then later in your practice.
