The Old Mobile Archaeology website was created in 1998 by Jo Ann Okuzono, under the direction of Greg Waselkov, with funds provided by the Center for Archaeological Studies at the University of South Alabama. A grant from the Alabama Cultural Resources Preservation Trust Fund, administered by the Alabama Historical Commission, supported a revision and expansion of the website in 1999. Bonnie Gums, Ashley Dumas, Sarah Mattics, Greg Waselkov, Dawn Smith, and Jo Ann Okuzono contributed to the new version. Sarah Mattics maintains the site.
