The purpose of the Friends of the University Archives is to strengthen and sustain the Archives by supporting its activities and programs; assisting in special projects; encouraging gifts and bequests; offering opportunities for interested individuals to work together out of common interest for the Archives; and enhancing involvement in and enthusiasm for the preservation of historical materials.
The Friends have funded two projects which are available on this website. One is "A Guide to Civil War Collections in Mobile, Alabama,"; and the other, "A Guide to Historic Markers in Mobile, Alabama."
The Friends hold two meetings annually, in the spring and the fall. Members are entitled to a 10 percent discount on Archives services. Click on "News" to the left of this page for information about upcoming meetings.
