Leader's Training Course (LTC). The mission of the Leaders Training Course is to qualify and motivate prospective cadets (who do not otherwise qualify for lateral entry) to enroll (contract) in the Advanced Course. It also provides the opportunity for selected high school graduates to qualify for entry into the Advanced Course if they attend a military junior college (MJC) and intend to contract in the Early Commissioning Program (ECP).
Cadet Practical Field Training (CPFT). The program includes training at Army schools and special courses including Basic Airborne Course, Air Assault School, Combat Survival Training, Combat Divers Qualification Course, Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course, Cadet Field Training, Mountain Warfare Training, Northern Warfare Training, Sandhurst, and United Kingdom Officer Training Course. Cadet Command pays for travel. Billeting and mess are provided by the installation at most locations. All cadets must meet the eligibility criteria to be selected.
Robin Sage Exercise (RS). Cadets play the role of guerillas and act as insurgent members of a growing resistance force. This program provides the cadets with opportunities to learn and grow as potential leaders. Over a three-week period cadets are exposed to Troop Leading Procedures (TLPs), Mission Planning, Small Unit Tactic, Air Operations, Basic Field Craft, Demolition, Medical, Communications and Weapons.
George and Carol Olmsted Foundation Cadet Travel and Cultural Emersion Program (OFCOT). Scholarship cadets participate in two to four week trips consisting of a combination of briefings, visits to foreign military academies, participation in educational tours, working in American Embassies etc. The program represents the ultimate in opportunities for language and cultural immersion experiences around the globe. The Future Force requires leaders for a diverse Army with multitude of missions and increasingly complex technologies, a mission which can only be met by better-educated and culturally sensitive officers.
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL) internship. Scholarship MSL II cadet participate for 4- 16 weeks in an individually supervised research and study program conducted at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Cadet apply directly to and are selected by LLNL. Cadets working for 4-6 weeks are considered MARA or "student guests" and recieve shared rental car, travel and lodging from LLNL. Students participating for 12 weeks or more are considered summer employees and recieve a salary ($17-$25/hr) and travel from LLNL. Lodging and transportation for ROTC interns is the student's responsibility. Cadet Command will assist in coordinating lodging.
