The University of South Alabama Department of Visual Arts invites applications for a full-time (9 month), non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in Glass. This position emphasizes teaching and carries a full teaching load of three courses per semester. Starting date is August 15, 2013.
Potential responsibilities include: Teach all levels of undergraduate and graduate courses in glass, teach courses in the foundations program, and develop, oversee, and maintain the glass facility. Participation in departmental and university governance, program development, academic advising, public service, and engagement in professional creative activities should be expected in this position.
Required credentials: Earned M.F.A. in glass, demonstrated expertise in glass blowing, full-time university level teaching experience, and fluency in written and spoken English.
