The First Aid for the Lay Responder course instructs you how to take basic disease transmission precautions, recognize and care for bleeding, wounds, and sudden illness, how to immobilize muscle, bone and joint injuries, care for head, neck, back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies. Certificate is valid for two years.

Online Session (2 hours). The blended learning online session offers students a variety of elements to learn program content including videos, lesson narration and special features. In order to move on to the in-person session, students must pass the assessment at the end of the online session and should print a copy of their online completion certification to submit to the instructor.

In-Person Session (1 hour). One session must be attended.  Once the online session has been successfully completed, students practice skills and are assessed by the instructor during the in-person skills session.

Certificate is earned upon completion of both the online and in-person sessions.
