Students in the Master of Arts Program in Sociology are eligible for funding through competitively awarded Graduate Assistantships. Currently, graduate assistantships are $9,000 for the nine-month academic year ($4,500 for the Fall and Spring semesters). Graduate assistants also receive a tuition waiver. Students holding a graduate assistantship must carry at least six semester hours (two graduate courses) per semester and are eligible for up to two academic years of assistantship support. Applications for Graduate Assistantships, due March 15 for an assistantship during the following academic year, can be obtained here. Additional financial assistance for students in the Master of Arts Program in Sociology is available through funded research projects with members of the Graduate Faculty.
