Applying for nationally competitive scholarships (undergraduate) and fellowships (post-graduate) requires foresight and planning. Our office is available to USA students to help in this process which often takes several months. Although the requirements for each program vary; in general, students should have a GPA of 3.75 or higher and a history of research or campus leadership and/or community service. We have provided materials for both applicants and mentors that are useful in completing a strong application.

National scholarships, fellowships, and grants are selective awards that provide financial and professional support for a variety of purposes.  Fellowships are available for research, graduate school, public service, or international study.  Scholarships are generally available for completion of undergraduate education.  The study or research may be undertaken in the United States or abroad, and may be for a short time, summer, academic year, or longer.

General deadlines are given for each program; however, some programs require an institutional nomination or endorsement.  In those cases, the campus deadlines are several months earlier than the program deadlines.
