Discover Accounting

The Department of Accounting offers both an undergraduate degree in accounting and a Master of Accounting degree. Our degrees fully prepare graduates for the demanding task of providing complete and accurate financial information. Our programs offer a broad coverage of business topics and help students develop the skills to become successful business professionals. Our graduates work for public accounting firms, private corporations, governmental agencies and not-for-profit entities.

The Department of Accounting in the Mitchell College of Business is separately accredited by AACSB International – the highest level of business and accounting accreditation. Fewer than 200 institutions worldwide have earned this prestigious accounting accreditation.

Bachelor of Science

Our undergraduate degree requires students to complete 122 semester hours. While our program focuses on the full-time day student, we offer every accounting course at night at least once every two years. We encourage our undergraduates to stay and complete their Master of Accounting degree in order to earn the 150 semester hours to be CPA exam eligible.

Master of Accounting

Our Master of Accounting program is designed for both the full-time student and working professional. Required courses are offered in both the day and evening on a rotating basis. A full-time student can graduate in one calendar year while an evening student can complete the program in two years. Students are admitted to the program in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
