As most of you already know the petition drive scheduled for this month was cancelled because we were informed the project was a success even though we did not have to actually put on the drive. The Humanities doors will be automated by the end of the semester and beginning of the summer semester. We are pleased this chapter has finally closed in the automating of the doors at South Alabama..

Meetings

The next member meetings will be April 11, 2007 at 4:30pm in Student Center room 212 and April 25, 2007 at the same location. Hope to see you there!.



Elevator Outages

Elevator outages continue to plague the university, but a planned outage has us concerned. The ILB and administration building elevators will be out between the days of May 5th until the beginning of the Summer semester. Since the outage occurs before finals are complete we intend to take issue with these “planned outages”. We have enough problems with the unplanned outages and do not need to add to these problems with planned outages to the mix until after the semester is complete.

Student Center Doors: Push-Plate Dilemmas Resolved
The work has begun on the push-plates and we expect before the end of the semester the work will be completed and there will be actual working automatic doors at the Student Center again. We are so happy this is finally being resolved to our satisfaction.
