Continuing Education (CEUs)

The University of South Alabama Center for Continuing Education and Conference Services is an Alabama Board of Nursing approved provider of continuing nursing education in Alabama.  According to the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, "Continuing education contact hours which have been approved either by another Board of Nursing or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) are acceptable for relicensure in Louisiana." Mississippi Nursing Practice Law does not mandate continuing education but does require the nurse to maintain competency in his/her field of practice. Nurses completing all four modules will be awarded 28.5 contact hours.

The 24-hour practicum to be completed at the end of the four class sessions provides you with the opportunity to apply what you have learned in the classroom. The USA Center for Continuing Education and LNC faculty will work with students from the Mobile, coastal Mississippi, and Louisiana area to locate an attorney or other LNC practice setting to assure you gain introductory experience as an LNC. By working with an attorney or other LNC setting you will gain the valuable experience needed to launch your new career as an LNC, in addition to providing you with an excellent opportunity for future work.
