WINTER BREAK TIMELINE: 12/9/16 (12 PM) - 1/5/17 (9 AM)

The residence halls will be closed for Winter Break beginning Friday, December 9, 2016 at 12:00 PM (noon) and remain closed until Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9:00 AM. Learn how to register for Break Housing below.


If your Winter Break plans include remaining on campus or gaining access to your room at any time during the break, you must register for Break Housing by December 1st to ensure you have access to your residence hall and avoid a late registration fee. The Break Housing registration form is located at the bottom of this page. Residents MUST be logged into their JagMail email account to access the form on the device being used to register.

Card access will cut off at 12:00 PM (noon) on the last day of final exams (Thursday, December 8th). All residence halls will remain open for residents who have completed Winter Break registration. Register for Break Housing by completing the and submitting the form below (must be logged in to your JagMail email account to access the form).


There is no charge to remain on campus in your room during the winter break as long as registration is completed prior to the deadline (December 1st).

All requests received after December 1st will be subject to a late registration charge of $100.00. Any applicable charges will be assessed to the student's account (PAWS) after Winter Break.

Dining Services
Please Note: During active break periods, such as Winter Break, the Dining Hall is CLOSED and meal plans are NOT ACTIVE. There are limited on-campus dining options available during the Winter Break period. The last day of service for the Fresh Food Company prior to Winter Break will be Thursday, December 8, 2016. The first day of service for the Fresh Food Company after the Winter Break will be Sunday, January 8, 2017.

University Power Outage
A campus-wide* University power outage for electrical maintenance is scheduled to take place during the Winter Break. This power outage will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (12 Hrs). *USA Grove Housing will not be impacted by this outage.
Although students registered for break housing are able to remain in their residence hall during this time, remember that during an electrical outage all lighting, power outlets, air conditioning, heating, and internet will be affected.
How to prepare for the power outage:
-  Computers and other electronic equipment are sensitive to electrical outages. We recommend unplugging this
   equipment before the outage.
-  Special refrigerated items may need to be removed as refrigerators and freezers will not have power during this
For rooms with stoves/ovens: Remember to check that all cooking appliances are turned off before the outage
   and ensure that no items are left inside or on top of the unit.

Each CD has office hours Monday – Friday, 1PM – 5PM.
