Conference Housing Staff
Although the home base for Conference Housing operations may be housed in a building other than the building in which your conference group is assigned, a Conference Assistant will be on call and available to each group 24 hours a day throughout your stay. They also have access to other on-call professional housing staff. Conference Housing staff members are trained to focus on each group’s needs from customer service to facility safety.

Internet Access

Every residence hall room has a wired Ethernet port. Conference guests may use the open wall port in their room for their wired devices. Network cables can be obtained from the Conference Housing Office (Epsilon 1) or by calling the USA Computer Services Center (251-460-6161). You will have the opportunity to establish a wireless network in your room by purchasing/providing the wireless router of your choice. See our Internet Services page for recommended products and specifications. Unlimited access to the wired network connection and broadband internet is included in your nightly rate.

Linen sets are available to conference groups, provided the group requests the packets at the time of reservation and the entire group utilizes linens on all days. Each packet includes two sheets, one pillow, one pillow case, one towel and one washcloth. Linen packets will be in place in the rooms prior to arrival for those who have reserved this service, and they will be picked up after the group’s departure. Linen rates will be determined after a vendor has been selected. As of June 2015, a linen vendor still has not been selected.

All of our rooms include unlimited laundry access at no additional charge. Find additional information about our laundry facilities, including their locations, by visiting the Laundry Services page.

All of our rooms include access to extended basic cable channels at no additional charge, should the conference guest(s) choose to bring a TV. Find additional information about our cable services, including a channel line-up by visiting the Cable Services page.

All guests must obtain a valid USA permit to park on campus. Most conference housing accommodations provide adequate parking around the facilities for guests visiting South Alabama’s campus. Reservations for parking must be made in advance by emailing Conference Housing the needed number of passes.

Common Areas & Storage Rooms
Groups have the option to request the use of a lockable room for storage or meeting purposes. Conference Housing will make all efforts to place this room in the same building your group is staying. TV Rooms are available for reservation in some buildings, while in other buildings groups may choose to reserve a double or triple occupancy room to meet their needs. Please note that your request for a storage room or meeting area must be received three weeks prior to your arrival for full consideration. For each room used for these purposes, a group will be assessed on per room per night basis. Conference groups should indicate that they wish to use such space on their Conference Housing Reservation Request Form.
