Faculty Development Day is a series of instructional workshops intended to help faculty learn about research-based instructional approaches that they can apply in their classes.

 How can we get students to use the outcomes of exams to identify their strengths and weaknesses, reflect on their study strategies, and determine the nature of their errors? The use of exam wrapper - short documents or surveys that focus student reflection on their preparation for and performance on exams. Various forms of these tools will be demonstrated and their best use will be discussed.

How can technology help improve learning outcomes by providing opportunities for practice and feedback? How can a tool like VoiceThread make these activities (practice, feedback, assessment) in ways that traditional approaches may not be able to? Particularly how can these be applied in proficiency- (Competency-, mastery-, standards-based-) based approaches?
