The Alabama Gulf Coast is the setting for one of the nation's newest meteorology curriculums. Although the area is well known for its azaleas, abundant sunshine, and outdoor recreation, it also has a variety of severe weather phenomena including thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, and waterspouts; an offering of nature that should excite any student of meteorology.
