University of South Alabama Scholarships

 
   
   

The Alabama Space Grant Consortium (ASGC) includes six Ph.D. - granting universities, all with space - related research activities, seven affiliates and the US Space & Rocket Center. Nine other small colleges and schools in Alabama are affiliated with Space Grant Activities through the NASA EPSCoR program. NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is an ex-officio member of the consortium. As a participant in the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, the ASGC promotes America's preeminence in aerospace into the next century.

Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The Alabama Space Grant Consortium has allocated funds for a limited number of undergraduate scholarship awards of $1000 per academic year. Special consideration will be given to students in underrepresented groups.

Graduate Fellowship Program

Fellowship awards of $20,000 will be based on academic excellence.  One graduate fellowship was awarded this year at USA.  Next year's applications will be due in early March.

   Teacher Education Scholarship Program

Innovative methods of teaching and promoting science in the K-12 schools within the state are also encouraged through this program. Development of new curricula for science and technology may also be funded under this program.
