Education: B.S., University of South Alabama; Ph.D. Louisiana State University
Interests: I'm a biogeographer, specifically a "plant person." My research is in paleoecology... the reconstruction of past environments by analyzing microfossils such as pollen, grass phytoliths and diatoms found in sediments. This involves a basic appreciation for and love of mud and wetlands. I teach Atmospheric Processes and Patterns, Landscape Processes and Patterns, Map Interpretation and Design, Alabama Geography, Biogeography, Environmental Earth Science, and Field Work in Geography. I am especially interested in nontraditional students because I was one for 10 years!
