Education: B.S., M.S. University of Florida; Ph.D. Rutgers University 

Interests: Heavy metal contamination of eastern Siberian lakes, streams and rivers; estuarine geochemistry and sedimentology; ion site partitioning behavior of metals; chemical, physical, and engineering properties of tropical soils; interaction of organic and metal contaminants with clay mineral phases; mineralogy and sedimentology of Gulf coastal plain formations. Geology and archaeology of Yucatan There is little doubt that "the best geologist is the geologist who has seen the most geology"; to expose students to the "most geology", my colleagues and I schedule annual field trips to Mexico, Central I America, and/or elsewhere in Canada and the United States.
