Mary Anne Connors
Geology Instructor (Baldwin County)
maconnors@usouthal.edu
Education: B.S., M.S., University of Alabama
Interests: My scientific interests are widely varied, which is why I particularly enjoy
teaching introductory geology classes. In graduate school, my principal area of
research was stratigraphy, particularly ancient coastline deposition in the
Black Warrior Basin of Alabama. As a result, I really enjoy sedimentology and
coastal geology, particularly the geology and geomorphology of barrier islands.
I also have interests in paleontology, mineralogy/gemology, as well as
environmental geology. I have taught in the Baldwin County Master Environmental
Educators program and worked professionally as an environmental geologist.
