- The National Institutes of Health,
Mitochondrial Biology in Cardiovascular Health and
Diseases Conference will be held October
6-7, 2008 at the Natcher Conference Center in
Bethesda, Maryland. The conference will include
presentations on the role of the regulation of
mitochodrial biogenesis in health and disease,
mitochondrial energetics and metabolism in ischemic heart
disease, reactive oxygen species regulation of
mitochondrial function, genetic diseases that modulate
mitochonfdrial dysfunction, the role of mitochondrial
biology in obesity and diabetes, the role of imaging and
proteomics technologies in elucidating mitochondrial
biology, and novel therapies targeting mitochondria.
