RCR Standards and Resources
The Responsible Conduct of Research is required by multiple sponsors, but the National Institutes of Health (NIH) recommendations have been widely adopted as the standard for RCR training and education.
RCR Training
The DHHS Office of Research Integrity (ORI) has supplemented the NIH's recommendations by publishing guidance
on what ORI considers to be essential elements of an appropriate RCR program.
The rubric for RCR is as follows:
Research Misconduct
Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment
Human Subject Protections
Use and Care of Animals
Data Acquisition, Management, Sharing and Ownership
Publication Practices and Responsible Authorship
Detecting Common Mistakes
Mentor/Trainee Responsibilities
Peer Review
