Welcome to the University of South Alabama's SGA Website!

"On behalf of the Student Government Association, I would like to welcome you to the University of South Alabama. Please explore our newly updated website to find changes occurring throughout SGA and campus. SGA serves the student body through a variety of avenues including student organization appropriations and senate projects. Our goal is to make changes within our community and campus to better serve the student body at the University of South Alabama. As the liaison between the student body and the administration and Board of Trustees, I value student thoughts and concerns. I encourage you to take advantage of our "Your Voice" program and our Student Forum at SGA meetings to express concerns and needs that you feel SGA can remedy. I look forward to seeing and hearing from you throughout this academic year. Please feel free to attend SGA meetings, which are held every Monday at 8:00 p.m. in the Fresh Food Co. ballroom."

Riley Davis

SGA President, 2013-2014

Now...What is SGA?

The Student Government Association is the voice and governing body of the students. All South Alabama students are members of the SGA and encouraged to get involved. The purpose of SGA is to protect and advance the students' interests as well as to promote the welfare of the students by providing student services. The SGA operates as a constitutional democracy and is composed of three branches: the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch. The SGA meets every Monday night that school is in session at 8:00 PM in the Dining Hall Fresh Food Company conference room just past the JagID registers down the small hallway, first door on your left. Our meetings are open to all students, faculty, and staff of the University of South Alabama. For more information, please come by the SGA Office which is located in the Academic Support Center Room 1363 or contact the SGA Office at (251) 460-7191 or email us at
