Homepage Overview

Assignment: Learn to use the University Library Homepage to find information.

How to:

    1. Print out the graphic of the Unversity Library Homepage.(pdf)
    2. Explore the University Library homepage on your own.
    3. Be prepared to answer the questions on this exercise in class.

Support: Encourage exploration of the homepage. Talk about what to look for on library homepages in general, e.g. catalog, databases, hours, library guides, links to other libraries, etc.

Use: As a homework assignment. In class ask students to offer an interesting/surprising link they found on the homepage. Have the students bring in a copy of the homepage graphic. Print out the exercise form and give the students 5-10 minutes to answer the questions in class.

Objectives: Orient students to the University Library homepage and what is available to them through the library.
