James Damico Retires
After 12 years as Director of the Libraries at USA, Mr. James Damico retired on August 31st. He and his wife Kathy, who also retired from the University, are building their dream home over the Bay. They took immediate advantage of their retirement by visiting brand new twin grandbabies in Delaware. With the home construction and four grandchildren to keep track of Kathy and Jim are looking forward to busy times ahead.
Gene Sullivan Appointed Interim Director
Gene Sullivan, who has worked for the University library as Collection Development officer for 30 years, has moved to the Administration Offices on the third floor to make sure that the Library continues to function smoothly until a new director can be hired.
Joaquin Holloway Retires
Dr. Joaquin M. Holloway, Jr., Ph.D. retired from his duties as Director of the Instructional Media Center on the Ground Floor of the University Library. Joaquin had served in this position for almost 30 years overseeing the purchase and use of all non-print media. Joaquin will continue his active work in the community, as well as have more time with his wife and family in Mobile and his beloved granddaughter, Ariel, in Houston, the only child of his recently deceased daughter, Monica.
