We
are pleased to announce that USA now has online access to 28 American
Chemical Society journals. This includes 16 titles that we did not previously
have subscriptions to, and 2 subscribed to by the Biomedical Library.
Journal
articles will be available in both HTML and PDF files.
The
journals can be searched by author or article title and the online access
includes links from the HTML versions of the articles to the CAS abstracts
of listed references, and to the full text of the referenced articles
when available.
This
access was obtained in cooperation with the Network of Alabama Academic
Libraries, with each library owning subscriptions to ACS journals paying
a surcharge over and above their subscriptions for electronic access.
At
this time, access is by USA domain name only. To use the ACS journals
online, go to SOUTHcat Plus (http://library.southalabama.edu) and click
on Electronic Journals. Then click on American Chemical Society to see
a list of journals.
The
only titles that we don't have access
to are those that are print only or non-ACS: Chemical & Engineering News,
Chemical Innovation, Modern Drug Discovery, Today's Chemist at Work, Bulletin
of the Chemical Society of Japan, Chemistry Letters, and Journal of Physical
and Chemical Reference Data.
