More Full Text Journals

The Astronomical Journal and the Astrophysical Journal are now available online in full-text. Check under Electronic Journals -- if by publisher, choose University of Chicago Press.

In a change that has been a long time in coming, the University Library now has access to PsycINFO through the web instead of through the old catalog interface. The switch to the web is exciting because the SilverPlatter search engine is much more powerful. You can broaden your search or make it more precise. By choosing "Set Other Limits," a search on eating disorders, for example, can be narrowed by such fields as document type, publication year, language, age group and population (male, female, animal.) To try out the new PsycINFO, go to the library's homepage at http://library.southalabama.edu; you can use this database from either on-campus or off-campus computers. Versions are available for users with Java-enabled browsers (4.x and above) and for those with browsers that don't use Java (generally 3.x and below.)
