Civil engineers design, build, operate, and maintain the infrastructure that keeps our society moving - buildings, transportation, drinking water systems, waste management, and coastal protection structures. From the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to Perdido Pass in Orange Beach Alabama, civil engineers are building our future.

From microchips to smartphones to game consoles to computers, computer engineers truly make the future come alive. Given how interconnected smart devices have become a part of everyday life, the need for computer engineers is growing every day.

Society’s reliance on electricity in all aspects of life means that the field of electrical engineering is rapidly growing. Electrical engineers deal with cool technology in everything electrical, including electric vehicles, national power grids, renewable energy, smartphones, TVs, airplanes, space craft, GPS, microchips, and much more.

Mechanical engineers design and build machines and systems for a wide variety of purposes. They might design a new solar power plant, the next generation of electric cars, or help humans explore Mars. They might apply 3D printing to develop a next generation artificial heart, or use nanotechnology for targeted drug delivery to treat cancer. The possibilities truly are limitless.

Systems Engineering is a transdisciplinary and holistic approach to design, development and delivery of successful systems. Systems engineers act to integrate the various engineering disciplines when delivering systems. These successful systems must satisfy the needs of their customers, users and other stakeholders.
