AED will now being using an hour system to keep track of members' participation.
AED Membership Requirements
- For those planning on going to AED National Convention: 5 meeting hours, 12 service hours, 6 fundraising hours, 1 other hour, and pay annual dues.
- For those NOT planning on going to AED National Convention: 5 meeting hours, 12 service hours, 2 fundraising hours, 1 other hour, and pay annual dues.
- Membership dues are to be paid by the 3rd meeting and is a requirement to becoming a member. It's $18 for the entire year, $10 for the semester. If late, it becomes $20 for the year and $12 for the semester.
- Of the 12 service hours, 4 may be obtained from a non-AED event.
- “Other” credits may be earned through extra activities and meetings, gifts of the month, fundraisers, and intramurals.
- Each meeting you attend gives you one meeting hour. Anything you participate in (community activities, campus activities, AED/BMD picnics, etc) gives you one hour. Attending or playing intramurals is worth one hour or half an hour for watching and supporting the team. Fundraiser credits are worth one hour or half an hour. It will depend on the event. Bringing items to bake sales are half an hour and helping to fundraise for two or more hours will yield you one fundraising hour.
Requirements to become a National Member of AED
- Have a minimum 3.2 GPA.
- Have completed at least 3 semesters consecutively as an active local member.
