Social Work Student Organization (SWSO)

The Social Work Student Organization was formed in the fall of 2005 to represent social work student interests and organize activities.

The statement of purpose for the SWSO is:

The USA Social Work Student Organization works to support the Social Work program and students. The SWSO provides a mechanism for student input into the Social Work program, offers an opportunity to explore
common interests in Social Work, serves as a resource for students, and participates in community service projects. Anyone with an interest in the profession is encouraged to join the organization. SWSO officers are
elected by the membership from declared Social Work majors.*

Kate Akridge is the SWSO President for 2008-2009.

The Social Work student Organization met to select officers and organize for 2008-2009.

Amanda Bayne, Kassie Everett-Carroll, and Kate Akridge lead the discussion on selection of officers.

Jenny Ridderson and Sherri Kidd listen to the discussion.

Shermeka Hawthorne volunteers for an office.
