Professional Development Workshop Schedule

The ILC offers a variety of workshops and seminars that address teaching strategies and instructional technologies. Our workshops typically take place in the ILC Multipurpose Room, located in the main building, unless otherwise noted. The workshops are also available on our calendar. Questions? Gathering and Responding to Feedback | Tuesday, March 19 | 12:30pm-1:00pm | via Zoom

This 30-minute brown bag Zoom workshop series includes 2 sessions feedback in your course. The guiding question for Session One (March 12) is: What ongoing or mid-semester feedback practices work for me and my course design? Session Two (March 19) asks: How do I boost student responses to end of course evaluations and use their responses for future courses?

Social Annotation Workshop (Perusall/Hypothesis) | Wednesday, March 20 | 2:30pm-3:00pm

Join us for this 30-minute workshop highlighting the role Social Annotation can play in your course. We will practice annotating using Perusall and Hypothesis, two free online platforms!

LevelUP Student Learning and Success with ePortfolios | Monday, March 25 | 2:30pm-3:30pm

Support students in reflecting on their learning and connecting learning activities with the development of career readiness competencies by describing the value of ePortfolios as a high-impact practice and developing an ePortfolio reflection assignment. Come get your ePortfolio questions answered and create a plan to integrate ePortfolios into future assignments.

Course Design and Alignment | Tuesday, March 26 | 12:30pm-1:30pm

Participants in this workshop will have an opportunity to evaluate course objectives, activities, and assessments for alignment and get some feedback about alignment within their course. Participants will leave with a list of assessment types that are aligned with various levels of learning objectives and a template for use with backward course design.
