Department of Visual Arts

The Department of Visual Arts offers the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with concentrations in Animation, Art History, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Glass, and Printmaking. Students may also pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Technologies and Practice.

Visual Arts Chair Position

The Department of Visual Arts at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a full-time (twelve-month), tenure track Department Chair position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Visual Arts. Terminal degree is required, either M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Art History.

Screening of applicants will begin January 16, 2017, and will continue until position is filled.

Glass, Assistant Professor, Tenure Track Position

The University of South Alabama Department of Visual Arts invites applications for a full-time (9 month) tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Glass. Starting date is August 15, 2017. Responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate basic and advanced courses in glass and three-dimensional foundations, develop, oversee, and maintain glass facility and program, scholarly research and/or professional creative activity, academic advising, participation in departmental and university governance, professional development, and public service. Review of applications will begin on October 21, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.
